Meet the Prosper Medical Weight Loss Team

Owner, Daisy Zuniga

Daisy C. Zuniga

Owner & CEO

I would like to take a minute and say “thank you from the bottom of my heart for choosing Prosper Medical Weight Loss”.  As we embark on your health journey you have my promise that my staff will be by your side every step of the way.  Here at Prosper Medical Weight Loss you are our first and foremost priority!  As you walk through our doors rest assured you will be treated like family.  My medical staff is not only the best but they are caring, patient and understanding.  We will take the time to listen to your needs and concerns so that each plan is customized to your personal needs.

My story is simple, my background is legal.  I was a legal secretary in the corporate world for 30 yrs.  In 2010, I was approached by a friend to create medical contracts for doctors, medical assistants and physician assistants for a new company he was thinking of opening in the medical weight loss industry.  Knowing absolutely nothing about the industry,  I took on the challenge.  He was so impressed with my work that he asked me to join him in his journey.  After 30 years in my industry I walked away and joined him.  He gave me a title of “Director of HR.”  In time I was pretty much running the company.  I absolutely fell in love with the industry, I loved everything about it.  Most of all changing lives one at a time.  Eventually, he and I parted ways and I met my amazing husband Frank Zuniga.

Daisy & Frank Zuniga

As years went by, I always knew in my heart one day God would grant me my wish of owning my very own medical weight loss clinic.

In 2021, my husband and I decided to move to Texas and follow our son.  When I arrived here I fell in love not only with the State of Texas but with the people.  We settled in the City of Frisco and opened our first clinic in the Town of Little Elm.  Little Elm Medical Weight Loss received the New Business Rising Star of the Year Award in 2022.  AN ABSOLUTE DREAM COME TRUE.  Now, here we are in Prosper our second location we are so excited to serve this wonderful community of Prosper and give y’all the love and attention that we have been privileged to give to the City of Little Elm and its adjacent neighbors.

My clinic is comprised of several departments, from weight loss to anti-aging to everything in between.  I pride myself in each one of my products.   I can assure you they are the very best in the industry.  I am a product of it as I personally use each and everyone of them.  My motto has always been “I use it first, if I don’t like it or it doesn’t work it will not be introduced to any of my patients.”   Passion and confidence is the key!

Again,  I know you have many choices and I am so humbled that you have chosen Prosper Medical Weight Loss!

Sincerely,

Daisy C. Zuniga

Race Karlin

Certified Medical Assistant

My name is Race Karlin, and I’m from Princeton, Texas. I graduated from Ouachita Baptist University, where I studied biology, chemistry, mass communications and conducted NASA funded research investigating various environmental conditions on model organisms under Dr. Jim Taylor. After completing my undergraduate degree, I’ve continued to advance my education by taking additional courses and pursuing an advanced degree, with a focus on nutrition and lifestyle as preventative care. I’m passionate about using my knowledge to educate others on how diet and lifestyle changes can positively impact overall health.

My passion for healthcare began in service on a medical mission trip to Catacamas, Honduras, where I worked as a medical instrument technician and assisted with pre- and post-operative care in a general surgery clinic under Dr. David Bailey. More recently, I
shadowed Dr. Sindu Igala at Southern Endocrinology and Diabetes Associates, gaining insight into endocrine conditions such as diabetes, thyroid nodules, and weight loss. Additionally, I’ve worked as an independent nutrition and lifestyle coach, helping clients improve their metabolic health through active living and nutritional education. Currently, as a medical assistant and nutrition specialist at Little Elm and Prosper Medical Weight Loss, I continue my work by educating patients and providing them with the skills
and tools necessary for long-term weight loss success.

In my leisure time I stay up to date on the latest scientific literature and cultural debate surrounding nutrition, metabolism and metabolic disease. I enjoy taking walks, being in nature, working out at the gym, and using the sauna. I also love sports, music, gaming, and spending time with friends and family.
